FAQQ: What is your guarantee?A: If we treat the interior and exterior of your home, we will eliminate your ant problem and guarantee our service for at least 6 months. If you have any interior ant activity within the 6 month guarantee, we will return at no cost to resolve the issue. We guarantee the exterior of your home for 30 days. Q: Antbusters got rid of my ant problem last year, can I prevent them from coming back this year? A: Yes, if you contact Antbusters during the spring or early summer, prior to the ants making it inside your home. We will schedule a preventive exterior treatment that will eliminate the ant nests that are building up around the outside of 00your home. This preventive treatment is very effective at stopping interior ant infestations. Because we are only treating the exterior, we will also discount the service fee! But, don’t wait until you’ve seen ants inside. Q: How does Antbusters’ eliminate the ant nests? A: Using a class of insecticides called “non-detectables”, Antbusters applies a residual insecticide to the interior and exterior of your home. Since ants do not detect the insecticide they readily walk through it and contaminate themselves. Then, as social insects, they spread the residual product throughout the colony. The colony is eliminated by its own workers, even if it is in the wall, under the slab or over your neighbor’s fence. Q: Does Antbusters use bait to eliminate ants? A: No. Although ant bait works in a similar fashion to the non-detectable insecticides we use, it does not work as well. Argentine ants are notorious for happily taking a particular bait today, then trailing right past it tomorrow. Ants must want to eat the bait for it to be effective. At Antbusters, we don’t have to rely on the ants to eat the bait, they just have to walk…and that’s something all ants do very well. Q: Is it safe? A: Yes. The products used in and around your home are designed exactly for this purpose. They are used in and around thousands of homes a day across the United States without any problems. Antbusters has never had a customer safety issue in the thousands of homes we’ve made ant free in Southern California. Q: Do I have to leave the house? A: That depends on you. If have small children, we would like to have them out of the house until our applications have dried. That usually takes an hour or so. We are trying to avoid you or your children coming in contact with the application while it is still wet. If you do, we will ask you to wash the exposed area with soap and water. The main safety risk is slipping and falling in an area that we just treated. If you work from home or don’t want to leave, we ask you to stay put at your desk or watch TV for a while until the applications have dried. Once the applications have dried, everyone can resume living as normal, with no changes. Q: What about pets? A: We ask you to contain your pets for an hour while we are servicing your home. That means putting the pet in a dog/cat carrier, locking them the closet or other room that doesn’t need to be serviced or taking them for a walk for a few minutes. The pet doesn’t need to be removed from the premises, just contained so they don’t come in contact with the residual until it dries. Once it is dry, they can resume life as usual. Q: Does it stain? What about odor? A: Antbusters’ process is stain free and odor free. If you didn’t know we had been there, you wouldn’t know we’d been there. Q: I don’t want you to treat the inside of my house, can you get rid of my ants if you only service outside? A: Maybe, but don’t count on it. If the ants are traversing in and out of your house on a daily basis, it is possible they would pick up enough residual to destroy the nests inside the walls, but not likely. Usually, once the ants have moved inside, they stay put. They establish nests in the walls and often travel on the plumbing and electrical lines. Q: They have food, water and a comfortable nesting area inside, why would they go outside? A: If we treat only the exterior of your home, it is not likely that your interior ant problem will be resolved in a timely manner. Likewise, if we do not treat the interior and exterior of your home, we can extend to you our 6 month interior guarantee! Q:I live in a condo, duplex or townhouse and my neighbor isn’t willing to treat their home, will your process still work? A: Yes. It may take a little longer, and we will likely solve your neighbor’s ant problem in the process, but we are 100% effective at eliminating ants in multi-family dwellings. Q: Does your service really work? A:Yes. Some homes are harder work than others, but we’ve never walked away from a home that had an ant problem we couldn’t solve. Q: Why are ants such a problem in this area? A: Argentine ants are the species that is prevalent in Southern California. Although they are small and don’t sting, they are formidable little creatures. Several characteristics of their species make them so troublesome to humans and very hard to get rid of:
